Balboa Pier

I was suppose to go to the Great Park and do something. I don’t want to say what that something is because it’s going to be used in my upcoming film. =] I been working on it for a while. I’m not trying to force it so I’m working on it little by little until I’m content. =] Well I didn’t go what I wanted to do. I decided to explore the city instead. It all led me to Balboa Pier in the end of the day. I didn’t realize how close it was to me. You are starting to grow on me OC. =]

The pier was filled with people fishing. Of course. The whole place smelled.
It was all windy and cold. My ears actually started to hurt after a while. It was weird.
The place was filled with humbled families who didn’t speak English. They all have their coolers packed with things and bait laid on benches. The people on it are so real. Such a wonderful experience. I wouldn’t mind taking another trip to it. I would say it’s one of my favorite places to be.
Off the pier was a different story. Girls in short dresses, beach-front shops, pizza sold in the slices, expensive cars. The vibe is way different.

Well this is honestly one of my favorite photos I have ever taken. No editing. I couldn’t do it justice. I love how the grandma is holding her grandchild up to have the whole world entirely in her hands. Beautiful. It’s the American dream.
Yes. I wear Vans on the beach.
Still going strong,

  1. I had a very similar experience just yesterday when I went to the Santa Monica pier. There was so many vendors who did not speak English and I saw a lot of fishermen. Perhaps that's just these places are?

  2. I've totes been here. And i KNow what you mean. The pier versus the beach side streets is soooo different. Its like two completely different world. Did you walk the labyrinth?
